Welcome !!

As many of you know, in 1995 Mary Kate Callahan was stricken with Transverse Myelitis. Transverse Myelitis causes injury to the spinal cord. The result of this injury for Mary Kate is paralysis below the cervical level. Since 1995, Mary Kate has made tremendous progress. Great advances have also been made in the research of, and cure for, spinal cord injury.

The Claddagh Foundation was established 1997 to support spinal cord injury research and to assist individuals, including Mary Kate, dealing with this and other related conditions. These efforts have mostly supported the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, the Transverse Myelitis Association, the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois, and other groups and individuals whose needs reflect the mission of the Claddagh Foundation. Since its founding, the Claddagh Foundation has been able to donate in excess of $1,200,000 in support of its mission!!

The Claddagh Foundation is non-profit organization and is recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization.
